Nepotism in Bollywood

It is not new. It is going from generation. Some of the biggest stars of Bollywood are products of nepotism.

In today's time, Bollywood has become a game of two or three families. 

Most of the people of Bollywood are connected to each other somehow.

Most of the powerful people of Bollywood always try to give roles to their children or relatives in big Bollywood movies. They do not give outsiders a chance to perform in a good film.

1. Tusshar Kapoor

he is the son of Bollywood actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. He made his Bollywood debut by the movie "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai". He acted in 33 movies from which 19 flopped.

2.Abhishek Bachchan 

he is the son of actors Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. His Bollywood debut was "Refugee". He acted in 43 movies from which 28 flopped.

3. Uday Chopra

He is the son of the film producer/film director Yash Chopra and film producer Pamela Chopra. He acted in 10 movies from which 6 flopped.

4. Arjun Kapoor

He is the son of film producer Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. His debut was "Ishqzaade". He acted in 12 movies from which 7 flopped.

5. Sonam Kapoor

He acted in 11 movies from which 7 flopped. His Bollywood debut was "Student of the year".

4. Sushant Singh Rajput

He acted in 9 movies from which 3 flopped. 

His Bollywood debut was "Kai Po Che!".

He did suicide on June 14,2020, the reason may be Bollywood nepotism.

5.Taapsee Pannu

She acted in 14 movies from which 7 flopped. Her Bollywood debut was "Chashme Baddoor".

6. Irrfan Khan

Why Public watch star kids/products of nepotism? 

Public watch star kids more than outsiders because of these reasons:

Producers

Producers play a very important role in the selection of actors for the movie. Some producer-only choose star kids for their movies, they don't give chance to outsiders.
So the public has no choice but to watch star kids.

Movie Promotion

Star kids generally have good financial support because of their parent's money so they promote their movies very well, while on another hand new outsiders who don't sound good financially so they can't promote their movies very well.

So generally the public doesn't even know about the movie of a new outsider because of a lack of promotion. So they don't watch outsiders movies.

Critics

Critics play a very important role in the success of the movie, they influence the public to watch a movie. Movies of star kids get good reviews by critics because of their or their family connections with critics, whereas new outsiders don't have any connections with critics. So they don't get so many good reviews.

What can we do?

We can't do so much as the selection of actor for the movie is not in our hand but least we can do is:

•  Don't blindly judge a movie by its promotion. 
• judge actor by his/her acting skill, not with his background.
• At least watch a new outsider actor's movie for once for giving them a chance to prove themself.
